Mary Carter

Mary began painting in 1987 with classes at a local community college and local art school in New York. Between juggling a corporate career and family, she took advantage of art training and classes when available. In 2013 as her business ventures slowed down, her painting went to a new level and she was able to seriously pursue her passion to paint.
In 2013 Mary moved to Pinehurst, NC to be close to aging family members. She was a member of the Artist League of the Sand Hills where she studied with local and visiting artists. She relocated to Florida in 2016 and experienced a new frontier of opportunities. The beautiful Florida oceans & rivers, plant life, colors, and light called to her.
In order to keep growing with my painting, “I love to explore new styles and mediums. Recently I gained an appreciation for abstract art which is increasingly popular. After much trial and error, I have found it to be such a freeing process”. Mary hopes to evolve her painting to new levels as she develops new ways to express her art.
