Merana delights in creating and sharing. Big, small, 2 or 3 dimensions, whatever media close to hand, she can't rest until the idea becomes reality.
Journeying through life, many subjects have caught her fancy. There are several series; from aviation to orchids, skyscapes to portraits; architecture to fantasy. Watercolors, acrylics, clay, mixed media...it's all fun to play with!
She has juried into shows from local to international, and won several awards. She designed an official Girl Scout poster, and her History Press "Gates of Savannah" sold out the entire edition. Recently, she earned a fourth place, Impressionistic figure, in the American Artists competition, juried by 25 US galleries with entries from 63 countries.
The later reflects the addition of the title 'author' to her resume, where she tries to corral various like-themed artwork between a pair of covers with a bit of text.
"My artwork, like life, has taken unexpected twists and turns. It's full of surprises. I invite you to come and see a few of the images I've transcribed from the journey so far...."
