Penny’s painting style, in watercolor and acrylic, has evolved from realism to the bold use of colors in her impressionistic landscapes. Although largely self taught, Penny has studied under studio artists at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia, and has attended art workshops under Carol Sebold, Skip Lawrence and Tom Lynch. A Westerner by birth, Penny’s career with American Airlines has afforded her a view of the world few ever experience, and this view is well-reflected in her work which is both sophisticated and alive. Her intuitiveness with nature and color breathe upon her canvases. Her art, which often represents a familiar spot on the Treasure Coast, graces many private art collections in the United States.
