Patricia Padoll
As an artist, I am inspired by the beauty around me. I love the changing nature of skies and cloud formations, and how water and landscapes are affected by the time of day, and the weather. My unique style of painting is actually a combination of several styles. I began my art career painting realism, moved on to atmospheric landscapes, which is similar to impressionism, and allowed my abilities to lead me in a new direction. I find that enhancing the colors in nature, and focusing on the light, and subject matter brings each of my paintings to life.
I am a middle child, which may explain my need to express myself. One of five children, I grew up and attended school in Baltimore, MD. I set out to establish myself in business, and had a successful career working in the Banking Industry, for both the IBM Corporation, and General Electric, along with starting a consulting business with my husband.
My art career started in an unusual way. I was helping an artist in North Georgia with her business, when she suggested I attend her watercolor classes. She loved my paintings, and encouraged me to continue with classes. This led to four years of painting with watercolors, followed by an intense period of several years with experience art teachers, learning how to paint in oils before stepping out on my own. I have since exhibited in galleries and art shows throughout Florida, Georgia, and Virginia.
I love sharing my art, and am proud to be a member/owner of the Artists Guild Gallery of Vero Beach, since 2017. It is a prestigious fine art gallery, located in downtown Vero Beach, featuring the artworks of local award winning artists.
